Why Do I Have Inner Thigh Fat?
The body needs some body fat to be healthy and function optimally. Fat on the body helps to protect organs, bones and helps hormones do their job. Excess body fat can form when you take in more calories than your body can use or burn off from exercise. When the body stores fat in places, it really depends on factors such as genetics and the shape of your body (height, structure etc). Generally, women do tend to store extra body fat in the lower body – hips, lower belly and thighs. This can be largely due to the female body being designed to reproduce, create and carry a baby. Having enough fat around the hips and stomach helps to carry a baby and protect the mother’s body.
